About Workers’ Rights

Free tools and resources for employees navigating workplace issues.

Why this exists

This started with a simple gap: there was no free, private place for workers to understand their rights without handing their story to a law firm fishing for a client, or risking their employer seeing it. So we built one.

Workers’ Rights is free for workers, helping employees understand their legal protections, document workplace issues, and find employment attorneys. Whether you’re dealing with discrimination, retaliation, wage theft, or unsafe working conditions, our goal is to give you the information and tools you need to protect yourself. No credit card is required.

What we are — and what we’re not

  • Not a law firm. We don’t take cases or solicit you. These are educational tools; using them creates no attorney-client relationship.
  • Not your employer. This platform is not built by, funded by, or sharing data with any employer or HR vendor. Your documentation is yours alone.
  • We don’t sell your data. No data brokers, no ad networks, no tracking your story for resale. Your entries are encrypted in your browser.
  • Free for workers & independent. Worker-facing features are free; no credit card is required. We are not affiliated with any government agency, law firm, or company.

What We Offer

  • Rights Assessment — Answer a few questions to understand which federal and state laws may apply to your situation.
  • Documentation Tools — Build a timeline, catalog evidence, and keep a private journal. Entries are encrypted in your browser; signed-in accounts can sync encrypted copies across devices.
  • Court Rulings Database — Search our research corpus of 144,000+ court rulings to find precedent relevant to your situation.
  • Attorney Directory Search 9,000+ public-source employment attorney listings across the U.S. and review available docket-linked case history.
  • Law Updates — Monitor changes to federal and state employment laws that could affect your rights.

Data Sources

We aggregate legal information from public sources, including:

  • CourtListener (Free Law Project) — court opinions and rulings
  • NELA (National Employment Lawyers Association) — attorney directory data
  • Google Places — office location and contact listings
  • Avvo and Justia — public website-directory records
  • Curated and manually maintained listings — factual records maintained directly for this directory

Directory inclusion is not state-bar verification or an endorsement. Always confirm current license status with the relevant state bar.

Privacy First

Entries are encrypted in your browser. Anonymous records stay on that device; signed-in accounts can sync encrypted copies so the account works across devices. No account is required for the core platform, and we do not sell personal data. Limited processing by service providers is described in the Privacy Policy.
